qualifying battery products

STSgreen understands the criticality of electronic controls for lithium-based batteries. We emphasize a systematic approach where qualification begins with the identification of all possible failure i modes and their potential effects on operating safety. It requires an evaluation of each element, such as hardware components, battery management algorithms, the software for implementing those algorithms, and the battery cells. Each of these elements is separately qualified, and then the system as a whole is evaluated to ensure that all of these elements are working together effectively

Our technical team designs a customized testing regime to establish proper testing limits to ensure that the battery or cell performs as intended once it is used in the application for which it is designed. We test cells and finished battery packs, to destruction if necessary, before the product is approved for release to the customer. We determine cell survival during adverse conditions, its reaction to unusual loads and establish failure modes or guard band process limits

STS Green provides “Cycle of Learning” employing accelerated cycle testing. We subject cells to repeated charge – discharge cycles to verify that the cells meet specifications. Temperature, charge/discharge rates and the Depth of Discharge (DOD) each have a major influence on the cycle life of the cells. Our engineering group customizes these factors and conditions according to the product design and construction
